THE MAKING OF BLOCK PRINT.
The block printing tradition of western India is a textile art where skilled artisans carve intricate wooden blocks and layer each color by hand, preserving both heritage and craftsmanship.

01. Carving wooden block

02. Make the fabric taut
Ensure the fabric remains taut by carefully securing it with small pins.

03. Woodblock prints each color onto the fabric
Craftsman lengthens fabric and presses a wooden block rhythmically. It requires high skill to make pattern uniformity. Using many type of blocks and colors to give a fabric life. It is quite hard and steady work with precision.

04. Washing & Drying
Once all the colors have been applied, the dye is left to dry before the fabric is washed. Finally, the washed fabric is dried under Jaipur’s radiant sunlight.
*This is for Sanganer print, it may need more steps depends on way of dyeing.
Swaying in the gentle breeze, the block-printed fabric absorbs the dry Jaipur air, becoming even more beautiful, soft, and luminous.
